Chardonnays, oaked or not, often have the typical coloring of a white wine more akin to straw in the realm of yellows and whites. Chardonnays usually have nice fruits even if they have to fight against a little bit of oak. The 2006 Varaison Vineyards Chardonnay “Crème Brulée” is not anywhere near your typical chardonnay.
