We taste wine and use descriptions such as oak, spice, fruit and earth, and not necessarily terms such as appetizer, intermezzo and secondi. So it makes sense that when Opus Restaurant and Infinite Monkey Theorem teamed up for a multi-course wine dinner, they paired by those basic flavor profiles (which, by the way, is the way you should think about food and wine pairing), and not by wines associated with a particular course on a menu.

Colorado Winery Row. Kinda has a nice ring to it. But this isn’t just a marketing cliché, it’s actually a serious concentration of Colorado wine only a few weeks from fruition in northwest Denver.

While the official marketing name hasn’t been set (it could wind up Denver Winery Row or something similar), the concept is simple: Four wineries working together to brand one little area in Denver as a locapour hotbed.

The Denver Broncos did not make the Super Bowl this year. That’s news that depresses the people of the greater metro area, central mountains and Western Slope like little else. So, come Feb. 6, we’ll be forced to watch two teams—the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts—that seem to be fairing much better than the Donkeys these days.
